Vietravel Airlines (VU, Hue Phu Bai International) will wet lease an A320-200 from Avion Express Malta (4X, Malta International) until after the next Lunar New Year (January 29, 2025), according to the airline's social media statement.
ADS-B flight tracking data shows that 9H-SWN (msn 5086) ferried into Ho Chi Minh City from Castellón de la Plana Costa Azahar over the course of November 21-22.
9H-SWN commenced revenue flights for Vietravel Airlines on November 24, operating Ho Chi Minh-Qui Nhon and Ho Chi Minh-Hanoi roundtrips. The 12.5-year-old 180-passenger single-cabin aircraft ceased flying for Eurowings earlier this month.
The aircraft will join Vietravel's three A321-200s that currently link five cities within Viet Nam and also fly to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. One of Vietravel's A320s, VN-A278 (msn 6376), ferried to Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta for maintenance on September 30 and remains there. The other two aircraft are in service.
