Tradewind Aviation (TJ, Oxford, CT) will relocate the operations of all its Bahamas scheduled services departing West Palm Beach International to Stuart Witham starting on January 23, 2025.
The charter specialist made the decision due to an anticipated rise in the frequency of Presidential Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) at Palm Beach after President Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20.
West Palm Beach International Airport is close to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, and any time the future president is present, “all private charter and non-traditional airline flights will require a stop at a gateway airport,” the company said.
Departures from Stuart will feature private jet terminal access. Tradewind Aviation serves Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera in the Bahamas from Florida. The carrier launched both routes earlier this year after opening its new Florida hub in September 2023.
West Palm Beach is currently Tradewind's only Florida base.
