Chrono Aviation (NDL, Québec) announced the addition of the first Citation X, C-FJIC (msn 750-0020), in November 2024, returning to the business jet market after a four-year gap.
Although Chrono Aviation has announced the aircraft is available for charter and listed it as such on its official website, the aircraft remains registered under the CAR 604 certificate, i.e. for private operations only.
The recently inducted 27.9-year-old aircraft, capable of accommodating up to eight passengers, was operated by ACASS Canada since 2023. The former operator replaced the retired jet by another 22-year-old unit of the same type, C-FJWX (msn 750-0205).
The Citation X joins nine other aircraft operated by Chrono Aviation, including seven PC-12s and two Beech 1900Ds. Unlike the Citation X, these types are listed under CAR 703 (on-demand air taxi charters) and CAR 704 (on-demand commuter) certificates. The operator used to have a Citation Jet 4 and a Falcon 50EX in its fleet and retired both in 2020.
Chrono Aviation is part of the Chrono Group, which also includes Chrono Jet, an airline with a fleet of two B737-200s, a B737-200C, a B737-800(SF), and a DHC-8-100. The group is currently under bankruptcy protection. Starlink Aviation has bid and was approved by the Superior Court of Quebec to acquire the group's assets, including both carriers.
