Execaire Aviation (Montréal Trudeau) retired the sole Challenger 850 it operated, ch-aviation research has revealed.
C-GSLL (msn 8103) was last active on December 5, flying between Toronto Pearson and Buffalo Niagara International, followed by a leg to Atlanta Newman Coweta County. It was then deregistered in Canada and reregistered in the United States on December 11 as N850RD. It began flying in the US six days later with the first flight to Atlanta Speedway Airport. It is currently not listed as a Part 135-certified aircraft.
The Challenger 850 is a 14.2-year-old aircraft configured to seat up to 14 passengers, which was previously available for charter. It was originally delivered to Image Air Charter and later operated by Skycharter. Earlier this year, these two companies, together with Execaire and Innotech Aviation, were merged and rebranded as Execaire Aviation.
In an exclusive interview with ch-aviation, Execaire said that given its sizeable Challenger fleet, it was easy for it to grow the family further. The operator's fleet comprises two Challenger 300s, three Challenger 350s, four Challenger 604s, three Challenger 605s, and six Challenger 650s. Overall, Execaire Aviation manages a diverse fleet of 41 aircraft manufactured by Bombardier Business Aircraft, Dassault Aviation, Embraer Executive Jets, Gulfstream Aerospace, Pilatus Aircraft, and Textron Aviation.
