Jet2 (United Kingdom) (LS, Leeds/Bradford) has officially retired its B757-200 fleet, placing all three remaining aircraft into long-term storage.
The three units, G-LSAE (msn 24135), G-LSAI (msn 24016), and G-LSAK (msn 27973), were ferried to St. Athan between January 2 and 8, according to ADS-B data. The Boeing B757 type is no longer included in the airline’s schedules, the ch-aviation schedules module confirms. Jet2, which owns all three aircraft, has opted to phase out the type as part of its transition to newer Airbus narrowbody jets.
The retirement of these aircraft also marks the end of active passenger B757 operations in the United Kingdom. Only four B757-200(SF)s, operated by DHL Air (D0, Nottingham East Midlands), remain active in the country. Jet2's B757 fleet had an average age of 34 years. G-LSAE and G-LSAI joined the airline in 2006, while G-LSAK was added in 2010.
Jet2 was not immediately available for comment.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows Jet2’s fleet now comprises 117 aircraft - three A321-200s, thirteen A321-200NX, seven B737-300s, and ninety-three B737-800s, plus one A330-200 wet leased from AirTanker. The airline has 134 A321-200NX still to be delivered from an order placed by parent Jet2 plc.
