North American Air Charter (Islip) has ceased Learjet charter operations following the phase-out of its sole Learjet 60 from its Part 135-certified fleet, ch-aviation research shows.
N189SB (msn 60-210), a 22.4-year-old jet configured for up to eight passengers, joined North American Air Charter's fleet by September 2024. However, it remained largely inactive during its time with the operator.
After performing some flights in early October, the jet was only active on four different occasions. It has been parked at El Paso since January 16, 2025, following a flight from Houston Hobby. All its flights under North American Air Charter’s Part 135 certificate were operated under the 'JTL' code for Jet Linx Aviation, its previous operator.
ch-aviation has reached out to North American Air Charter for further details.
The jet has now been added to the Part 135 fleet of Jetvia, which is exclusively composed of Learjet aircraft and includes seventeen Learjet 60s, four Learjet 60SEs, a Learjet 35A, and three Learjet 55s.
Following this phase-out, North American Air Charter's Part 135 certificate comprises a Citation Latitude, a HondaJet (APMG), a newly added HondaJet Elite, and a King Air C90A.
