Edelweiss Air (WK, Zurich) has taken delivery of its first A350-900, one of six the carrier expects to add as part of its fleet modernisation.

HB-IHF (msn 363) arrived at Zurich on March 13, after a ferry flight from Lourdes/Tarbes, Flightradar24 ADS-B data show.

The 5.3-year-old aircraft was operated by LATAM Airlines Brasil's between December 2019 and June 2021. It was retired by the Brazilian airline after LATAM Airlines Group decided to exit the A350 type. Swiss' parent, Lufthansa Group, subsequently acquired the aircraft from Deucalion Aviation. It was previously configured to seat up to 339 passengers, including 30 business class seats, 63 economy plus, and 246 in economy.

The first A350 will enter service on April 1, 2025, operating short-haul flights in Europe and Türkiye for crew training purposes. The long-haul debut is currently scheduled for May 15, 2025, on the Las Vegas Harry Reid route.

The airline plans to replace its fleet of five A340-300s with A350-900s by mid-2027.

Edelweiss Air also operates fourteen A320-200s, according to ch-aviation fleets data.
