L’Odyssey (Geneva) has cancelled plans to open six out of seven new routes out of Nîmes Garons. The virtual carrier, owned by Jet Airlines (France), cites the introduction of a new solidarity tax (Taxe de solidarité sur les billets d’aviation - TSBA) as the primary reason for the cancellation of planned services, the media outlet Franceinfo reported.

The airline initially announced the introduction of flights to Geneva, Barcelona El Prat, Bastia, Ajaccio, Nice, Verona, and Milan in time for the summer season. Only the route to Ajaccio is now expected to go ahead, and the first flight is scheduled for May 31.

According to the airline's booking system, the route will be operated by aircraft from FROST. The Danish carrier currently operates four Saab 2000s, ch-aviation fleets data reveals. Jet Airlines initially planned to charter an ATR72-600 for the new routes from Nîmes.

L’Odyssey said its profit margins are now at risk due to the TSBA, first introduced in March 2025. Jet Airlines' founder and chief executive Clement Pellistrandi told the news site France Bleu that the flights are "no longer financially sustainable."

L’Odyssey has faced criticism since it announced the introduction of new services from Nîmes due to concerns about the environmental impact of short-haul flights over rail alternative.
