Transwing, a Switzerland-based private jet operator, secured an Austrian air operator's certificate (AOC), #A-178, on February 26, 2025. This allowed it to bring in-house its Citation M2 HB-VTW (msn 525-1044), which it previously dry-leased to AFS Alpine Flightservice. It also plans to add two brand new Citation M2 Gen2s this year.

Transwing GmbH, an Austrian subsidiary of Switzerland's Transwing Ltd, was established in 2024. Despite opting for an Austrian AOC, the operator will continue flying Swiss-registered aircraft under an Article 83bis agreement between the two countries and will keep HB-VTW on the current register.

The 5.3-year-old aircraft, configured for six passengers, was last active under AFS Alpine Flightservice's 'FSE' code on February 23, flying between Bern and Vienna. After transitioning to Transwing's AOC, it flew to Linz Blue Danube followed by a leg to Zurich on February 26, and began operating under Transwing's 'TSW' code on March 18 with a test flight and a roundtrip to Vienna.

CEO Mark Meyer told SkyNews.ch that the two Citation M2 Gen2s, the final pair of the series, will deliver directly from Textron Aviation in June and July 2025. They will be registered as HB-VMM (msn 525-1197) and HB-VBN (msn 525-1201). Transwing's fleet will be available for charter on a floating basis. The operator plans to introduce managed aircraft by 2026.
