Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has signed a dry lease agreement with AviLease for eight incremental A320-200N aircraft.
Two aircraft have already been delivered to the Turkish flag carrier, while the remaining six are due to arrive by the end of 2025, the lessor announced on April 7. Turkish Airlines and AviLease did not disclose the duration of the lease agreement and did not respond to ch-aviation's request for comment.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Turkish Airlines currently operates thirteen A320-200Ns powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1127G-JM engines are equipped with 186-seat all-economy cabins. Seven aircraft of the type are operated for its low-cost subsidiary AJet, which also has one A320-200N in its in-house fleet. However, none of the 14 aircraft is currently active.
Turkish Airlines also operates seventy units of the larger A321-200NX type. Its previous contracts with AviLease covered three B737-800s, the ch-aviation fleets ownership module shows.
