Arajet (DM, Santo Domingo Las Américas) has reached an agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital for the sale and leaseback of five B737-8s, scheduled to be delivered between 2026 and 2027.

The Dominican carrier currently operates a fleet of ten B737-8s, with 17 more of the type to be delivered, the ch-aviation fleets module shows. This includes 12 from a direct order with Boeing and five from BOC Aviation, as ch-aviation reported earlier in the year.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with SMBC Aviation Capital as we expand our fleet with the addition of these state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft,” said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, chief executive of Arajet.
