Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong International) CEO John Slosar has told Aviation Week that the carrier is currently evaluating both the B747-8 and A380-800 with plans to make a decision on whether or not to order some of the aircraft before summer. Cathay currently already operates eight B747-8(F) freighters and has another two aircraft of the type on order. It is in the process of retiring its remaining B747-400 fleet with the aircraft being gradually replaced by more B777-300(ER)s.
