Niger Airways (NWA, Niamey) will be launching operations later this year as a joint venture between private and public Nigerien investors and Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) which will hold a 49% minority stake in the start-up carrier. The airline plans to operate domestic routes from Niamey to Agadez, Arlit, Dosso and Zinder and to other countries in West Africa. Turkish Airlines has just recently launched service to Niamey serving the Nigerien capital three times weekly from Istanbul Atatürk with B737-900ERs.
