British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) has announced that it will increase its cooperation with Oneworld partner Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong International) to replace its joint venture agreement with Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) that will end later this month when Qantas starts cooperating with competitor Emirates (EK, Dubai International). British Airways currently operates two daily services between Heathrow and Hong Kong and will operate both daily services with B747-400s in the summer season. While it does not plan to cooperate with Cathay on the route between London and Hong Kong, it will codeshare on Cathay services from Hong Kong to Adelaide International, Brisbane International, Cairns, Melbourne Airport, Perth International and Sydney Kingsford Smith replacing the connections it had previously offered via Singapore Changi with Qantas.
