Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) has agreed with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) to a firm order for a total of 234 narrowbody aircraft. The order includes 60 A320-200s with the current engine option, 109 A320neos and 65 A321neos. According to Airbus chief executive officer Fabrice Brégier, this is the largest ever single order Airbus has received from any carrier both in terms of contract value and number of aircraft ordered. Lion had placed a similarly large order with Boeing one year ago for 29 additional B737-900(ER)s and 201 B737 MAX 8/9 aircraft.
