SriLankan Airlines (UL, Colombo International) has committed to Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) to buy six A330-300s and four A350-900s in a deal worth USD2.9billion at list prices. The announcement was made during the recent 2013 Paris Air Show at Paris Le Bourget. The SriLankan national carrier also intends to lease three added A350-900s though no lessor has yet been identified. Engine manufacturer, Rolls Royce, said it been awarded the accompanying USD800million tender to provide Trent XWB powerplants for the A350-900s and Trent 700s for the A330-300s.
