Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International) has reportedly reached a non-binding deal with an unnamed buyer to sell its Frontier Airlines (F9, Denver International) subsidiary. Chief executive Bryan Bedford said the terms require "certain conditions to be met to reach a binding agreement and complete the potential sale," which, if satisfied, could see the deal close come late Q3. In April, Republic announced it was in talks with Phoenix-based Indigo Partners LLC and New York-based Anchorage Capital Group regarding a possible buy out of Frontier though no further updates on that initiative have since been made public. Republic has been looking to divest itself of Frontier since late 2011, which it bought out of bankruptcy in 2009.
