UTair (UT, Khanty-Mansiysk) will retire its fleet of nine Tu-154Ms before the end of the year, airline CEO, Mr Andrey Martirosov, has announced. The Tupolevs are being replaced with B737-800s currently used on internal as well as CIS-bound flights. The Tu-154's smaller brother, the Tu-134, has already been phased out at UTair although its subsidiary UTair-Express (Syktyvkar) still operates a large number of Tu-134s and An-24s.
