Karinou Airlines (KRN, Bangui) along with ASKY Airlines (KP, Lomé), Air France (AF, Paris CDG), Royal Air Maroc (AT, Casablanca Mohamed V) and TAAG Angola Airlines (DT, Luanda 4 De Fevereiro) have all seen disruptions and delays to their respective services to Bangui M'poko International Airport over the last few days after the apron and taxiways there were invaded by vast crowds of locals demanding that a French Army unit garrisoned there protect them. According to the the Central African Republic's official newswire, Air France's weekly flight from Paris CDG was delayed by 12 hours on Wednesday following which local forces moved in and used teargas to disperse the masses. The chaos began on Tuesday night when residents of the Boeing quarter, adjacent to the airport, were forced to flee their homes after former Seleka rebel fighters started shooting up their neighbourhood.
