Zest Air (Manila Ninoy Aquino International) will be rebranded and relaunched at some stage over the next two months, Maan Hontiveros, the president and CEO of Zest Air's shareholder, AirAsia Philippines (Manila Ninoy Aquino International), has announced. According to Ms Hontiveros, while AirAsia wants to see Zest Air carrying its brand and colours as part of their 2012 strategic partnership agreement, both airlines will still operate separately with separate AOCs. However, some of their backroom operations, namely commercial marketing and human resources, are to be merged. “AirAsia will be operated as AirAsia while ZestAir will be operated as ZestAir. The operations are still separate as ZestAir will continue to operate in its Manila Ninoy Aquino International, Kalibo and Cebu hubs while AirAsia will continue to operate out of Angeles City Clark International,” she explained. Ms Hontiveros pointed out that both airlines are now awaiting the green light from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other agencies before proceeding.
