Adria Airways (Ljubljana) has been granted traffic rights between Tirana and Frankfurt International by the Albanian government. According to the Slovenian carrier, the 4x weekly service will launch on April 2, 2014 onboard an A319-100. As a consequence, the number of flights between Ljubljana and the Albanian capital will increase from the existing ten weekly flights, as seen this past summer, to eleven weekly in 2014. Adria’s CEO Mark Anžur says the move is part of his airline's business renewal plan which involves putting greater emphasis on emerging travel markets; a strategy that has begun to pay off given the successful establishment of a base at Pristina.
