Inter Îles Air (Anjouan) and EWA Air (ZD, Dzaoudzi) have written a collective letter to the Comorian Ministry of Transport in a bid to resolve a standoff between the Comoros islands and the French territory of Mayotte. The standoff, triggered when Moroni rescinded Ewa's traffic rights to Moroni International in late October, has resulted in the suspension of flights between the two islands. According to Air Austral (UU, St. Denis de la Réunion) CEO, Marie-Joseph Malé, in their letter, the two airlines explained that they were both in a complicated situation in which it is in the interests of both companies to get out. Mr Malé told HabarizaComoros newswire that the ball was now in the Comoros court.
