Royal Brunei Airlines (BI, Bandar Seri Begawan) will reach a decision on its proposed short-haul fleet order next month. Both Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and Boeing (BOE, Washington National) are currently in the running with their A320 and B737 offerings, business newswire Bloomberg has reported. “We have an active short-haul campaign that will reach a climax in the next couple of weeks,” Deputy Chairman Dermot Mannion said. The jets will be used in further broadening the airline's regional footprint with Australia and southern India of particular interest. Royal Brunei operates two A319-100s and four A320-200s on flights to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines and China right now.
