EWA Air (ZD, Dzaoudzi) has at last been granted traffic rights to serve the Comoros after an impasse between the archipelago and neighbouring Mayotte, a French Overseas Department. The airline's maiden Moroni International service launched on November 17 using its ATR72-500. As such, Comorian carriers, in particular Inter Îles Air (Anjouan), have also been granted permission to resume their own Dzaoudzi operations. In a statement to mark the occasion, Ewa Air thanked "the French and Comorian authorities for their interest in this matter. The company also welcomes the joint cooperation done with the company Inter Îles Air to achieve this favourable outcome."
