Hamburg Airways (Hamburg Helmut Schmidt) has been contracted by a Swedish tour operator to operate on the Stockholm Arlanda - Tehran Imam Khomeini route with a first flight recently being operated by Hamburg Airways' A320-200 D-AHHC (cn 2745) on November 28. Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad) has temporarily suspended its service on the route as its sole A340-300, EP-APA (cn 2) is currently undergoing month-long maintenance. Based on ch-aviation research, while the aircraft has not been chartered by Iran Aseman, but by a travel agency catering to ethnic Iranians living in Sweden, the travel agency's contract covers the exact period over which the A340 is unavailable for service.
