American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) has converted an existing order with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for twenty-two A350-800s, into A350-900s. FlightGlobal reports that the original order, placed by subsidiary US Airways (Phoenix Sky Harbor), was split between eighteen A350-800s and four A350-900s. As such, the European manufacturer's order book for the A350-800 is fast disappearing with only 61 now left on order. Among those carriers still interested in the -800 are: Yemenia (IY, Aden), Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) and lessor Aircraft Purchase Fleet.
