AlbaStar (AP, Palma de Mallorca) and Calima Aviación (Gran Canaria) are both planning to increase the number of aircraft in their fleets in line with rising demand for capacity both into and out of Spain. Spanish tourism portal, Preferente, says AlbaStar is planning to add a fourth aircraft to its fleet of three B737-400s. The charter specialist is reportedly considering either the A320-200 or a larger B737-800. For its part, Calima intends to add an A320-200 to its sole B737-400 for use on flights between the Canary Islands and the British, French and Irish markets in summer this year.
