Sudamericana de Aviación (Latacunga) took delivery of its first aircraft, an ex-Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR, Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) B737-500, HC-COP (msn 25176), on January 16, 2014. Skyliner aviation records the ferry flight as being routed Celaya - Toluca - Latacunga. The Ecuadorian start-up is expected to operate charter services but little details are known so far. It is rumoured to be backed by Mexico's Global Air (México City International).
