Dalmatian (Split) is looking to at last begin services on June 2 with 4x weekly Zagreb Franjo Tuđman to Hamburg Helmut Schmidt flights. The airline markets itself as a hybrid Low Cost Carrier intending to exploit opportunities in emerging markets as well as in the ACMI and cargo sectors. Thus far, it says, it has secured a range of contracts to operate charter flights this summer season.
EX-YU Aviation News reports that plans to launch flights date back to 2006 when the original objective was to offer long-haul flights out of Croatia.
Fellow start-ups Air Croatia (Zagreb Franjo Tuđman), Libertas Air (Dubrovnik) and Adriatic Skyways (Dubrovnik) have also announced plans to begin operations this summer.
