Pan American Airways (Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has elected to cease all operations thereby scrubbing plans to launch this summer. In a brief press release, the start-up said the move came into effect on May 9 and blamed it on compliance matters relating to airline certification.
The carrier had planned to offer charter flights from its Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson hub to southern-tier US markets using a fleet of leased B737-800s.
The airline was the sixth attempt at resurrecting the defunct, if glamorous, Pan Am (1927) (New York JFK) brand.
