SilkAir (Singapore Changi) has begun its transition from an all-Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) fleet to Boeing (BOE, Washington National) with the phasing out of its A320 fleet. Research shows that with the recent arrival of the Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) subsidiary's first three B737-800s earlier this year, two A320s - 9V-SLB (cn 899) and 9V-SLC (cn 969) - have now been put into storage at Singapore Changi.

While the carrier continues to operate fifteen A320s and six A319-100s, they will be gradually replaced by 54 Boeing 737s, comprising 23 B737-800s and 31 B737 Max 8s. A total of eight planes are expected this year, with the remainder to be delivered by 2020.
