Our Airline (Nauru) CEO Geoff Bowmaker has announced plans to rebrand and rename the airline to Nauru Airlines (Nauru) with effect from August 1. Bowmaker told Radio New Zealand: "While the Our Airline (Nauru) name has served the company well for the past eight years, the new name recognises the proud history of Nauru's aviation and the natural and primary role of its airline in servicing the people of Nauru."
The change will likely coincide with the arrival of its first B737-300(F) freighter, VH-VLI (msn 27125).
Serving other Pacific islands and Australia, Our Airline was established in 2005 following the collapse of predecessor, Air Nauru (Nauru). Despite its Nauruan origins, the carrier operates under Australian civil aviation regulations and with an Australian Air Operators Certificate.
