Zexus Air (Delhi International) along with Premier Airways (Chennai), Tata SIA Airlines (Delhi International) and Turbo Megha Airways (Hyderabad International) have all secured their respective No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The issuance of the NOC allows each carrier to proceed with their respective applications for an Air Operators Permit from the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
In terms of their operations, Zexus Air is looking to operate a fleet of E175s on flights throughout India alongside Premier Air, backed by Umapathy Pinaghapani. For its part, Turbo Megha, a division of Turbo Aviation, is headed up by local celebrity Ram Charan and plans to serve tier II cities in India's south with a fleet of ATR72 or Dash 8-400 turboprops from Hyderabad International.
Tata SIA Airlines, a joint venture between Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) and the local Tata Group, is expected to launch full-service, scheduled operations later this year using a fleet of A320-200s.
