9 Air (AQ, Guangzhou) has signed a lease agreement with Singaporean lessor, Transportation Partners (TP), for three B737-800s. The aircraft will be sourced from the Boeing (BOE, Washington National) order book of TP's fellow Lion Group subsidiary, Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta). The deal marks the first transaction for TP, which so far has only placed aircraft with airlines within the Lion Air Group.
Formerly Jiu Yuan Airlines (Guangzhou), the Juneyao Airlines (Shanghai Hongqiao) subsidiary is a Guangzhou-based Low Cost Carrier aiming to launch operations later this month.
