La Costeña (LC, Managua) launched its first international services to Tegucigalpa in neighbouring Honduras on August 25. The 6x weekly flights operate on-board a Cessna (single turboprop) Caravan 208B airline managing director, Julio Caballero, said adding that as demand increases so one of its two ATR42-300s will be phased in.
"The most important thing is that we are offering something more accessible and with more direct service. We hope in the not too distant future to offer flights to Costa Rica," Caballero told the La Prensa newspaper.
The TACA International Airlines (San Salvador International) subsidiary operates flights throughout Nicaragua
