China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) with début its maiden B777-300(ER) operations at the end of this month AirlineRoute has reported. The Chinese carrier's first B777-300(ER), B-2001 (msn 43269), is scheduled to operate Shanghai Hongqiao to Beijing Capital on September 30 developing the service into a double-daily operation during the month of October. The aircraft will initially operate domestically before being put on long haul services.

China Eastern has a total of twenty B777s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) and are destined to replace the airline's outgoing fleet of A340-600s.
