Air Pegasus (Bengaluru International) has taken delivery of its first aircraft, an ATR72-500, cn 699, with two more in the process of being acquired. The turboprop, formerly with Kingfisher Airlines (Mumbai International), is configured with 66 seats in an all-economy layout.
The start-up claimed it had encountered difficulties in sourcing the aircraft after lessors demanded what it termed "excessive" security deposits.
Shyson Thomas, Managing Director and CEO of Air Pegasus, says the airline is planning to launch operations in March next year with flights connecting Bengaluru International, Kochi International, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Hyderabad International, Hubli, Goa Dabolim, Madurai, Tuticorin, and Kozhikode.
