Aurigny Air Services (GR, Guernsey) is set to take delivery of its first Do228 aircraft in mid October. The first of two 19-seater twin-turboprop aircraft is being bought from Portugal's Groupo Seven Air, and will be used on the airline's services to Alderney, Dinard/St. Malo and Southampton and for training purposes.

"The new aircraft will come with pilots and engineering staff who will remain in the islands for the first few months to offer support to the operations team while the crew gain experience and complete the required training," the Guernsey-based carrier said via social media.

The aircraft are set to replace Aurigny's fleet of Trislanders.

The airline intends to operate a fleet of three or more of the type by summer of 2015 with plans to replace two of the used aircraft with new ones towards the end of 2016.
