Southern Air Charter (SOA, Nassau International) has secured a loan of up to USD2.1million from the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) to be used in the carrier's fleet expansion plans.
“This IIC loan supports the growth of a company from the air transport sector in order to improve inter-island connectivity in The Bahamas—which is key for the economic development of these islands,” said Rodrigo J. Navas Oreamuno, IIC lead investment officer in charge of the operation.
Southern Air is a Bahamian airline that operates scheduled flights throughout the Bahamas archipelago in addition to international charter flights. It is currently in the market for Beech 1900C and Beech 1900D turboprop aircraft.
