SCAT Airlines (DV, Shymkent) has established a new subsidiary, Southern Sky Airlines (IH, Shymkent), to operate services to Kazakhstan's more remote and inaccessible regions. Central Asian Aero News reports the carrier has been equipped with Scat's retired Soviet-era fleet which includes An-2s, An-24s, and Yak-42s.

The ch-aviation route database shows Scat's domestic Kazakh operations include services between Aktau, Aktobe, Almaty International, Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev, Atyrau, Kokshetau, Shymkent, Petropavlovsk, KZ, Taraz, Urzhar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Zhezkazgan, and former Soviet nuclear test site, Semipalatinsk.
