Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) has increased its shareholding in Tigerair (Singapore Changi) from 40% to 56% just days after the acquisition was approved by the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS).
A regulatory filing to the Singapore Stock Exchange said Singapore Airlines had converted all its perpetual convertible capital securities in Tiger Airways into new shares in a transaction valued at SGD202.65million (USD161.56million).
As it stands, the carrier now holds, on aggregate, 753,219,482 Tiger Airways shares, representing approximately 56.0 per cent of its total shareholding.
