Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kyiv Boryspil) and several other carriers including Air Arabia, Austrian Airlines, Motor Sich Airlines, Dniproavia, Turkish Airlines, Kharkiv Airlines, Pegasus Airlines have been forced to suspend their respective services to the beleaguered towns of Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Dnipro with effect from December 13.
Prior to its announcement, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU) had only banned Russian carrier Aeroflot from serving the cities. However, the SAAU said an escalation in fighting with Russian-backed separatist rebels in and around the affected cities has now warranted a full suspension of all civilian flights until further notice.
