Jiangxi Airlines (RY, Nanchang International) general manager, Wu Xiangyang, says his airline has set a June 18 date for the official launch of operations. The start-up had planned to start commercial operations in July of last year only to defer those plans to June of this year in order to allow for the finalization of an agreement between its shareholders, the Jiangxi Airlines Investment Co. (60%), and Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) (40%).
Using start-up capital of CNY2 billion (USD320 million), the airline will launch with an expected fleet of five B737NextGens serving Beijing Capital, Shanghai Pudong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu Shuangliu from its Nanchang International hub. China's WCARN aviation news says the fleet should grow to 8 aircraft in 2016 and 30 by 2020.
