SkyWise (Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) commenced scheduled operations on Friday, March 5, with flights between Johannesburg O.R. Tambo and Cape Town International. Service is on-board a B737-300, ZS-SPU (msn 24059), leased from Star Air (South Africa) (BRH, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo).
Flights from Durban King Shaka to Johannesburg and Cape Town are expected to debut in the next three months.
Founded by former 1time airline executives Rodney James, Glenn Orsmond, Michael Kaminski, Johan Borstlap and Wayne Duvenage, SkyWise was last year acquired by PAK Africa Aviation, the Dubai/Pakistan-backed firm which also holds a 62% stake in Global Aviation Operations subsidiary, Global Airways.
