Jonair (JON, Umeå) has been awarded the Pajala-Luleå Public Service Obligation (PSO) route formerly operated by Avies (Tallinn Lennart Meri). The Swedish business specialist will begin servicing the route with a Beech (twin turboprop) 200 Super King Air beginning October 25 of this year.
As previously reported, the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) stripped Avies of its three Swedish PSO contracts following continuous problems with the Estonian carrier's flight operations.
