Welcome Air (Innsbruck) and the majority stake in its fellow operator Tyrol Air Ambulance (TYW, Innsbruck) have come under British control after UK-based investor Kevin Walls purchased the holding company WLC Finance from former owner Remi Finanz- und Verwaltungs AG in late February.
While WLC Finance itself holds all shares in Welcome Air it only has a 95-percent interest in Tyrol Air Ambulance while the remaining five percent are owned by Austrian automobile club ÖAMTC. According to a statement made to the press, the two airlines will continue with the restructuring process started in 2013.
