Namibia flyafrica (Windhoek International) has once more deferred its launch owing to delays in it securing the necessary government approvals. The budget carrier had planned to offer flights between Windhoek International and Johannesburg O.R. Tambo as well as between Johannesburg O.R. Tambo and Lusaka from early February onwards only to postpone that date to March 2 and then to March 16 after it encountered regulatory delays. However, with the passing of that date, the LCC has now postponed the launch by at least 6 weeks to ensure ample time for the outstanding issues to be resolved.

“Final approval could come through today or tomorrow but we need to give people certainty which is why we've decided to halt operations for six weeks,” CEO Adrian Hamilton-Manns said without specifying which civil aviation authority - Namibia or South Africa - was responsible for the delays.

Namibia flyafrica is a joint venture between local Namibian operator, Bay Air Aviation (Windhoek Eros), and Mauritius-based holding firm, flyafrica Ltd.
