Air France (AF, Paris CDG) will this winter reduce the number of B747-400 operated routes in its network to one Airline Route reports. Effective October 25, the B747 will only see service on the Paris CDG-México City International route ahead of its planned retirement later next year.
Air France still operates six of the type in its fleet averaging 17.4 years of age while sister carrier KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) maintains a fleet of five averaging 24.4 years of age in addition to seventeen B747-400 combi aircraft.
