Kinmen Airlines (Kinmen) is a proposed Taiwanese start-up that is looking to operate a fleet of thirteen Boeing (BOE, Washington National) jets by the time it launches in 2016. China's WCARN news portal says the carrier is studying B737-800 and B737-900 jets alongside B737-700(C)s for a possible freight subsidiary.
Established in January of this year, Kinmen Airlines is looking to launch operations in November 2016 offering scheduled flights to Kinmen as well as to other undisclosed destinations throughout South East Asia.
Overall, the airline's founders, Han Yuxuan, who will be appointed airline Chairman, and Wang Jianxun, who will be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), are looking to source TWD9 billion (USD288 million) in initial funding with local government having been approached to contribute 30% to the project.
