AvA Airways (Curaçao) (Curaçao) is a Curaçaoan start-up looking to commence operations later this year with a fleet of four aircraft - either A319-100s or A320-200s. Founded in late 2013, the carrier has yet to begin certification with the Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) as it has yet to secure an economic permit from local authorities.
However, according to its original business plan, once operational, AVA plans to serve various islands throughout the Caribbean as well as mainland South American countries.
Though it had initially intended to use Jamaica as its central hub, Ava Transportation (Kingston Norman Manley) later settled on Curaçao given the Dutch island's good geographical location and preferential bilateral air service agreements.
